The Up n' Go stabilizes the user's pelvis to prevent falls and partially bears their weight, allowing them to feel as though they are walking on their own. Three levels of force adjustment allow users to receive only the minimum support they need (from 7 to 150 lbs), which maximizes the effects of therapeutic exercises. This adjustable support allows for graduated therapy and customization for users with all ranges of walking ability. With the support of the Up n' Go, users can develop correct posture, balance, and body strength.
The Up n' Go provides essential assistance for both the user and their caregiver. Allowing users to move around without risk of falling helps them develop the confidence to keep moving on their own. Because they no longer have to be totally supported and moved by their caregivers, users develop higher self esteem which motivates them to progress in their therapy programs. By using the Up n' Go, users receive feedback from their body to learn correct timing and positioning of movements.
With the use of the Up n' Go, strain on therapists and caregivers is reduced because they no longer have to lift patients on their own. This means more time and focus is devoted to therapy, giving patients the chance to develop strength and motor skills faster and more easily than before. In addition, because the Up n' Go is so lightweight and easy to use, it can be used in home environments, allowing users to receive therapy in the comfort of their own home.
The partial support provided by the Up n' Go makes it a much better option than a traditional walker, gait trainer, or lift. The main difference between the Up n' Go and a lift is that the Up n' Go allows patients, for those who are able, to partially lift themselves. The Up n' Go is also much smaller and weighs only twenty pounds, meaning it can be used in virtually any environment. Traditional walkers and gait trainers offer no trunk support, forcing users to put all of their weight on their legs or on a seat. However, the Up n' Go allows for exercise of the legs while the user is in a standing position, meaning they can easily go from supported to walking without having to be lifted. Users can also stand without needing to support themselves with their hands, as with a traditional walker.

How It Works:
Support
The Up n’ Go is a true partial weight bearing system. The support provided to the user supplements the strength that the user has in their lower extremities. This lifting support can enable users who might otherwise be unable to stand to stand and walk.
The lifting support is adjustable so that users who are able to progress in regaining (or retaining) their leg strength can progress from high support to lower or no support.

Trunk Control
The support that the Up n’ Go provides to the user is delivered above the user’s center of gravity. For this reason, the support not only partially lifts the user’s weight but it also stabilizes the position of the user’s pelvis and trunk. Thus users can work on dynamic balance and improved posture while being comfortably supported.

Sit to Stand
Moving from sitting to standing requires maximum use of leg strength and coordination. Users who may be able to stand and walk may have difficulty with this movement. The Up n’ Go provides constant support for the user during this critical and difficult movement. This support supplements the users own strength and frequently makes it possible for them to attain a standing position when they were thought to have lost the ability to stand on their own.
Normal Gait
An important feature of the Up n’ Go is that the support provided by the device remains constant as the user raises and lowers there trunk and shifts their weight from one leg to the other… all required elements in walking. In this respect, the Up n’ Go mimics the support a user gets in Aquatic Therapy. But the Up n’ Go has an additional important feature. The user is supported above their center of gravity and so the device stabilizes their pelvis and helps position their trunk over their legs.
