Weighing only 10.5-pounds, the P-440 Portable Ceiling Lift can easily be transported from room to room by unhooking the lift from the overhead track and reattaching it to another track. Unhooking the lift does require a reacher arm, which is sold separately. It has an ergonomic handle located on top just for this purpose. There are onboard controls located on the front of the lift that raise and lower the patient, indicate battery level, and emergency lower the patient. Additionally, the lift features a pneumatic hand control that features two large buttons. These large buttons make the control simple to use and easy to read.

The P-440 Portable Ceiling Lift features integrated carry bar hooks. You can use the hooks to manually push the ceiling lift along the overhead tracks. You don't need to purchase a carry bar, but you will need to purchase a sling and a trolley separately.

The P-440 Portable Ceiling Lift has a lifting range of 6.7-feet (80-inches), and a lifting weight capacity of 440-pounds. This ceiling lift can be recharged by using a standard plug and socket through the built-in port located on the front of the lift.

Answer: Yes, the Replacement Lifting Strap is compatible with the Prism Medical P-440.

I have a problem, the GREEN light on the left front side of the lift is ON and the lift does not operate in the DOWN direction. Please help!

Answer: There is a built-in slack tape detector in the lift. This may be sensitive. Take hold of the lift strap about 10 centimetres above the top of the lift and pull it upwards in order to tighten the lift strap, and then press the DOWN button. If this corrects the problem temporarily but not permanently then contact your local authorized dealer so that the lift can be checked to ensure proper continued operation.

The lift does not operate up or down even when the airline has been properly connected, how do I solve this issue? Thanks!

Answer: The indicator light on the front right side of the lift should be GREEN. Press the ON/OFF button or UP/DOWN arrow buttons on the hand control. This should activate the lift and the indicator light turn GREEN. If the lift still does not function, then the batteries may be low and require charging. Refer to the section of this manual titled “Charging the lift”. Charge the lift for at least one hour and then try to raise and lower it.

Hoist is great, but 2 months after receipt the hand controller stopped working. I reached out to rehabmart for assistance, but I was told that you don’t handle warranty issues and referred me to the manufacturer, Handicare. I spoke to their customer service Dept. and was informed that I should be dealing with the distributor (which is you) concerning a replacement unit. I called back and gave my info and was told someone would be contacting me via phone. Well it’s been a few weeks now and I’ve heard nothing. I’m very disappointed, I’ve bought equipment (thousands of $$$) from you over the last five years and have always been satisfied. Very disappointing over a $200-$300 item. I’ll be searching for a new distributor for my families needs.
