The Deluxe Hard Shell Helmet with Visor is made from shock-absorbent foam that lines a hard, ventilated plastic shell for superior comfort and durability. The well ventilated half inch thick liner absorbs shock, should your loved one take a tumble.The stylish helmet has a decorative visor and sporty rubber chin cup. Weighing in at an average 18 ounces, this little sporty dynamo is vinyl coated, so it's easy to clean using just soap and water.

The durability is only surpassed by it's comfortability for the wearers. Our soft foam liner withstands multiple impacts while retaining its compression resistance. The decorative-only visor makes the Deluxe Hard Shell Helmet with Visor even more handsome.

Choose from either cream outer shell and tan liner or black shell with black liner.

A free set of 4 Cush-In-Pads are included with every helmet for more individualized sizing adjustments, if needed.
If the child's head circumference falls between helmet sizes, additional cushions may be needed. See Optional Liner Cushions found above.

Since proper fit is important for the comfort of the person wearing headgear, measurements should be determined by professional personnel.

Measure the head circumference (A) at eyebrow level. Occipital measurement (B) is taken from eyebrow level to the back of the head at the point that the helmet is to end. Over the top of the Head (C) to top of ears.

potential striking surfaces (floor, walls, furniture, etc.)
nature of self abusiveness
severity & frequency of seizures or spasticity
length of time worn

While we believe that headgear can substantially reduce the risk of head injury we emphasize that there is no known device for preventing all injuries. Only you the customer are in a position to evaluate the particularized needs of the individual client in each environment. It is essential that professional and medical expertise be utilized in rendering decisions regarding headgear use.

MODEL 3459 - HARD SHELL EAR COVERINGS

An inside layer of soft ventilated foam and an outer covering of tough polycarbonate are attached to a Hard Shell Helmet covering the ear area. These can be purchased with a new helmet or they can be attached to an older helmet. Instructions are included. Specify helmet size and color when placing order. Sold per pair.

MODEL 3465 - REAR HARD SHELL EXTENSION

In order to provide additional coverage at the back of the head, the polyethylene shell may be extended to cover the lower foam at the back of the helmet.

Reinforced vinyl material is bonded into our foam liner seams, giving extra strength in these areas for situations where they receive exceptional stress.

MODEL 3466 - REINFORCED LINER

Reinforced vinyl material is bonded to our 9820 or 9821 full helmet liner to prolong the life of the helmet. Especially good in situations when receiving particularly hard use.

MODEL 3469 - QUICK RELEASE BUCKLE CHIN STRAP

Use in place of a regular chin strap when frequent attempts to remove the helmet occur. To release, just squeeze the buckle. SPECIFY:

MODEL 3470 - EYE GLASS RELIEF AREA FOR MODEL 9820 & MODEL 9821

Most clients who wear glasses are very comfortable wearing helmets with out this modification, but if eyeglass frames are a problem this solution is offered. Specially constructed padded polypropylene slings are formed to allow extra room for the frames of eye glasses on Model 9821.

MODEL 3472 - HELMET CUSTOM STRAPPING SYSTEM

Ideal for those situations where there are attempts to remove the helmet at inappropriate times. Straps are attached to each side of the 9821 Helmet (or to the bottom of the face guard on a 9822 Helmet) and then cross comfortably under the chin, attaching to the back of the helmet with quick release buckles. This also can be attached to our Model 9820 Soft Shell Helmet.
