Wall-Hugger Mechanism
The Champion 58 Series Bariatric Relax Recliner includes a wall-hugger mechanism that saves space. This space-saving feature makes it possible to position the recliner close to the wall, even when the chair is in full recline. While reclining, the wall-hugger mechanism moves the recliner chair forward, away from objects and walls behind the patient. This means that there only needs to be approximately 4" of space behind the chair.
Quick-Release Seat
The Champion 58 Series Bariatric Relax Recliner has an easy-to-remove seat that makes access to the inner parts of the chair possible. This function makes it easier to maintain and clean the chair, resulting in better infection control. To remove the seat, fully recline the chair to expose yellow thumb knobs located on both sides of the chair located on the outside of the seat. Those knobs can be removed and then the seat can be closed. From a closed position, the seat cushion can then be pulled out, like a drawer.
Trendelenburg Feature
The optional Trendelenburg is a safety feature designed to increase blood flow to the patients upper body in the case of an emergency, by enabling the caregiver to lay the back of the chair completely back, so that the patients head is lower than their feet.
