The Platinum Pax Behavorial Health Bed System offers a fully adjustable, safe, and comfortable medical bed with added security features required for the safety of psychiatric patients and their caregivers.
Most psychiatric hospital beds are non-electric, which makes it unsafe and difficult for medical and psychiatric personnel to safely treat dual-diagnosis patients. The fully electric bed allows a caregiver to safely and quickly adjust a patient's bed to provide a safe and comfortable position in aiding the patient's care without causing extra patient concern or aggravation.
Both patient and caregiver safety is paramount and this psychiatric bed offers a number of patient and caregiver safety features. One such feature is that the beds positioning functions are located on the footboard with a lockout control that is only accessible by a nurse or psychiatric professional using a universal key. This feature allows the bed to be positioned for the patient's comfort by the nurse, yet prevents the patient from using the bed controls to possibly harm themself. The lockout positional control includes an easy-to-read indicator light that will quickly assess if the bed is locked or unlocked.
Another feature is the ligature or binding-free headboard, footboard, and side rails that create a safer environment for both patients and caregivers. The head and footboards as well as the side rails are securely attached to the bed for added safety against the active or anxious patient. The foot/headboards, side rails, and the bed deck are made with durable HDPE material that is easy to clean and sanitize.
Other safety additions are the tamper-resistant security screws and fasteners throughout the bed system to prevent a patient from unscrewing parts of the bed and possibly harming themself or others, under-bed electrical wiring is covered and secured for added safety precautions, and the side mattress retainers can be safely used as security points.
The fully electric bed offers motorized adjustable bed height, from a low height of 11-inches from the floor to 31.5-inches in height. The bed deck also provides a maximum Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg position of 14-degrees as well as a maximum head elevation of 68-degrees. The bed also has under-bed lighting for easy viewing for objects or patients that may be hiding under the bed and a central and directional wheel locking system for security. The bed has a safe working load weight capacity of 600-pounds and a patent-pending integrated scale and bed exit alarm as an option.
